After almost 60 years at its South London site, essential repairs and modernisation works were required at ARK Putney Academy. The challenge was to create a suitable internal environment for 21st century teaching and learning in a manner that is sensitive to the heritage of the existing school.
With a wealth of experience and expertise in the education sector, Lindner Prater was appointed to deliver roofing and curtain walling at the site.
The redevelopment included improved energy efficiency, modern glazing to improve year-round temperature and energy management, a new sports hall to the latest Sport England standards and a new outdoor multi-purpose sports area. The site also accommodated a temporary structure, allowing the school to remain operational during the construction period.
Detailed planning and collaborative working was key to the successful completion of the project. As such, our project team worked collaboratively with metal standing seam supplier BEMO to deliver an acoustic (attenuation and absorption) roofing system. Lindner Prater was also responsible for the installation of Schuco curtain walling to the existing building, which comprises of an exposed concrete façade and in-situ concrete frame.
