Specialist envelope contractor Lindner Prater delivered an extensive scope of roofing and façade works for the redevelopment of Charter Place Shopping Centre in Watford.
Acquired by Intu in 2013, Charter Place was redeveloped as an extension of the existing adjacent Intu shopping centre. The £178 million development now offers 130,000m2 of retail space, as well as ten restaurants and a cinema complex that includes nine screens and a 450 seat IMAX theatre.
Appointed by Laing O’Rourke, Lindner Prater handled the design, supply and installation of a range of roofing and façade works, including BEMO aluminium standing seam, Permaquik structural waterproofing and Sarnafil single ply membrane for the roof. The façade installation comprised of Kawneer curtain walling and structural glazing, Kingspan composite wall panels and CGL rainscreens.
The project was very-fast paced, which required close coordination with other trades and our key supply chain partners across three key redevelopment zones.
This new leisure and retail development for Watford is a huge focus for the town, offering a place where people can shop, socialise and be entertained.
