Lindner Prater played a key role in the development of the Chiswick Park site in West London. Our engineers carried out a broad range of works throughout the 16-year project, and we were one of just two contractors to be involved in every building on site, including ten four-storey buildings, one eight storey and one twelve storey building.
The development, located off Chiswick High Road, features 140,000 sqm of office space across twelve buildings, and the site also features a restaurant and bar as well as a swimming pool and fitness centre.
Appointed by lead contractor Lendlease in 1999, we took the original concepts for Chiswick Park Developments to design and deliver an extensive scope of works across the site’s outbuildings, including structural waterproofing, secondary steelwork, roof decks and Kingspan cladding.
An integral part of our work on this project was the inclusion of Building Information Modelling (BIM). This was particularly beneficial during assembly of the main steelwork for the plant room in building 7, the largest and final building in the development. With many components including prefabricated roof decks manufactured off-site, the use of BIM ensured that everything was delivered to the correct dimensions, avoiding any issues during installation.
