Lindner Prater has played a fundamental role in the completion of the new Hilton London Wembley Hotel and student accommodation block. The project formed part of a series of developments for Quintain Estates to regenerate the Wembley area and Lindner Prater was appointed by main contractor John Sisk to design and install the exterior envelope for both buildings.
Overlooking the iconic Wembley Stadium, the new Hilton London Wembley Hotel has two floors of retail space, five floors of accommodation, a ballroom, gym and leisure facility. On the west side of the same development sits the new 9-storey student accommodation block with over 600 rooms.
Our scope of works for both buildings was extensive and included: ceramic rainscreen cladding, render, structural waterproofing, curtain walling, rainscreen cladding, louvres, doors, windows and fascias. However, the design and delivery of the two external envelopes for the new Hilton London Wembley hotel and the new student accommodation block were very different.
Although the two buildings were within the same portfolio of development projects for Quintain Estates, each building had its own architect and its own design and this meant a significant part of Lindner Prater’s role was to co-ordinate with all parties within the supply chain and manage the delivery of each building envelope.
The main entrance of the hotel was designed with large and very heavy glazing panels, a challenge made all the more difficult by limited access at a number of locations and at various stages of the build.
